Nellie's Star
The quilt is now on display in the shop. Come in and see it up close!
Nellie's Star is featured in the September/October, 2010 issue of McCall's Quilting. Our own Anita Peluso designed the quilt using Clothworks Textiles' new fabric line called June's Backyard. Quilting was done by Laurie Gustafson of Woodinville. Nellie's Star (60.5 x 60.5) is your basic lone star quilt pattern which can be strip pieced with your 8.5 x 24 inch ruler. You can also use the EZ Companion Angle ruler for the border to eliminate bias pieces.
Named for Gathering Fabric's dog, Nellie, you will love the soft and shabby feeling of this comfortable quilt. Pattern and cutting directions appear in McCall's Quilting. Kits are available for $90 WA state residents and $83 for out of state. Backing fabric is also available and you will need 4 yards. Additional postage is required for overseas shipments. Please email gatheringfabric@aol.com, use our "E-Inquiry" form, or call 425/402-9034 to order.
PS: Anita says even though McCall's classified it as an advanced pattern, she think of it as intermediate as long as you pay attention to the set in seams.
